The Teapot Now Open
A new eatery called The Teapot opened in Akbuk on Monday 9th March. The Teapot is located on the main Akbuk Road between Pizza Hatti and Celebi. The food available is all of your favorite cakes such as Victoria Sandwich, Lemon Meringue Pie, Doughnuts, Cheesecake, Apple Pie and many more. The savoury snack menu consists of Ploughman's Lunch, Sandwiches, Quiche, Jacket Potatoes and Crumpets.
The teapot will also be selling English greetings cards and party goods as well as homemade gifts. They will also be selling English newspapers as of April.
The shop is owned by Sheila MacDonald who has lived in Akbuk with her husband John for the past 5 years.

Paşa Bar & Restaurant Opens
Located on the sea front, first turning right after the petrol station, Paşa offers a comfortable very attractive bar and outside seating with great views of the bay.
The very enticing menu includes Turkish & English cuisine, fresh local fish, steaks and more.
The owners are Serdar & Donna also offer Nargile (Turkish pipes) and free wireless internet access.

H.S.B.C. Install Bankamatik in Akbuk
The new ATM which has been installed on the main road opposite the Belediye is now fully functional. The unit is an ATM Express model, fully enclosed and air conditioned.
The touch screen interface allows account holders to withdraw and deposit cash in TL, Euros or Sterling, transfer money between accounts, buy & sell mutual funds, change PIN numbers, print statements etc. etc. As far as we can tell it allows complete access to all your Turkish HSBC banking needs and if that's not enough there is a free phone to access the telephone banking system.
This will be of great help to local residents who bank with HSBC here in Turkey, we can see no reason now why depositors would need to make the journey to Didim every month - It's a bank in a box.
