Day 7
Today we decided to travel north to TRABZON. No real reason it just a place that I have always wanted to see.
We get under way and begin to clımb hıgh mountain passes topping out at 7500 feet. All of the mountains are now covered in snow. Half way there we come across the town of BAYBUT. Here we stop off to visit a hill fort (KALE) high above the town. After some minor changes in direction through the town we get to a place where we can park and walk up the hill to the fort. After much puffing we get there and what a view spectacular views across the mountaıns and over the town.
Off we go then to Trabzon and after 4 hours through the hills we fınally get to see the black sea. The town was very busy and I have not seen so many white minibuses as there are on the streets there. We stopped at the waters edge for a pic or two and then shopped, and where else do you shop but in M&S, well Pete did anyway. Also at the shopping centre we see our first car from Azerbaijan, and it was a Merc!
From here it was the same four hour drive back to ERZURUM but this time in the dark. Was it worth it, not really, its just a busy town on the Black Sea, but heh, we have been there.
So back in ERZURUM we check into the same hotel as last night, we checked out just in case we went somewhere else, and got ready for the big push on day 7.
